My good friend Darren Root has co-authored what I’m guessing will quickly become the definitive treatise on “Practice Management” for accounting firms. His co-author? None other than Michael Gerber of The E-Myth Revisited fame, which sold over 3 million copies in 16 languages (his other eight books sold well, too!).
The E-Myth Accountant is sub-titled “Why Most Accounting Practices Don't Work and What to Do About It” and is available for pre-order on Amazon here. It’s due to ship in just a few days. I’m VERY excited to read it as I had the pleasure of listening to a webcast that Darren and Michael did for The CPA Technology Advisor. Unfortunately I may have to wait a bit for the book though --- it seems it is not yet available in Kindle format!

I just purchased this book for my Dad. He has a very successful CPA firm in Riverside CA, but honestly, his firm is in need of a book like this to try and help organize them better.

This is a good custom. if a person is very sad, looks for a corner or cries in the quilt, does not need others sympathy to be pitiful, after having cried, the equally happy life. if a person starts to neglect you, asks you to leave him.

Sounds like a good book! I think this will be helpful even for people who have been in the accounting business for quite sometime too, though.

Learning how to properly manage your accounting firm, I believe, is a big step for startups out there and beginning in the industry. This read is sure to solidify the practices of accounting and provide great industry insight

I loved the e myth book and I know that working with Accountants and CPAs this will be a great read. Sad that they don't have it for Kindle.
