I’ve long been a proponent of multiple monitors and regularly advise using “dual monitors” rather than “two monitors” as I like the aesthetics. Now I’ve seen a product that clearly raises the bar for functionality. EVGA released a dual LCD display called the Interview. It is unique in that both display monitors independently swivel vertically or horizontally and they recognize a 180 degree rotation and compensate by rotating the image so that it views correctly.
The 17” screens (1440×900) with a 1.3 megapixel camera and 3 USB ports. They support either clone mode (both screens are the same) or span mode (screen extends your desktop across both screens).
And, just to show real innovation, they support dual keyboard and mouse controls so that users on each screen can manipulate data.
It seems to me that this is perfect for face to face meetings where you have a client sitting on the other side of your desk and you want to share information with them. Just a quick flip and they’re seeing what you’re seeing. Just like WebEx but without being in separate offices!
Not badly priced either --- at ~$650.
