Friends and colleagues:
Today I am writing to update you regarding what I consider to be very exciting news. I have resigned my position with The CPA Technology Advisor to accept the position of founding Executive Editor of The Progressive Accountant. In this capacity I hope to lead The Progressive Accountant to become the country’s premier digital resource for content specifically created for the tax and accounting profession and for vendors who seek to serve that community. Our content will include news, product and service reviews, interviews, how-to articles, best practice advice and regular columns and editorials from the profession’s most sought after thought-leaders. Our delivery methods will include websites as well as blogs, e-newsletters, RSS feeds, surveys and questionnaires, podcasts, webcasts, video, social networking and virtual reality presence.
I am very proud of my work with the magazine, and while we were successful in becoming the # 1 periodical in the space, the fact remains that it (The CPA Technology Advisor) is a print publication, and I have become more and more convinced that the future of content delivery is not in print but rather it is 100% digital. I am also convinced that the future is now. Finally, I am convinced that Progressive Media Group, being “born and raised” in a purely digital environment, is uniquely and singularly positioned to quickly claim that # 1 spot in this new digital world.
I will serve as the "public face" of The Progressive Accountant and represent it to the profession and the vendor community and vice versa. At The Progressive Accountant I will continue to review industry trends, innovations and success stories. I will continue to host a rich and full series of podcasts and webcasts. I will conduct periodic strategic planning sessions with our exceptional team of content contributors, and I will continue speaking at major technology and accounting conferences and trade shows. I will also continue to consult with companies seeking to serve small and midsized accounting practices. Finally, I will continue to stay current with the trials and tribulations of the practicing accountant as the Senior Manager of Tax & Technology with the Top 25 firm of Eide Bailly, LLP.
Godspeed.
