Shazam – iApp www.shazam.com
There are a few folks old enough to remember the TV show – “Name That Tune.” Listening to a few notes, contestants had to identify the song. Today, i can listen to a radio broadcast and miss the title and artist name. Problem solved, most of the time, with a new iApp – Shazam.
Put the iPhone close enough to hear the music, press the button, wait about 20 seconds and Shazam returns song title, artist, album cover and a link to iTunes and other sites like Amazon, MySpace and YouTube. My use did not always return a match, just most of the time.
This is not a direct business need, but it is useful and very clever. One can anticipate future use for locating reference material like audio books, speeches, podcasts and more.
