CCH Execs See Knowledge Management in Future
Mike Sabbatis, CEO of CCH, kicked off their 3rd Annual User Conference today in Dallas Grapevine, TX. Mike's general comments pointed to the "contextual design" process upon which CCH bases it's future products. Nancy McKinstry, Chairman and CEO of Wolters Kluwer followed by detailing the international footprint and the extent of investment in "innovation". Finally, Kevin Robert, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting, detailed his vision for implementation of products --- primarily knowledge management. Robert sees "knowledge management" at the center of the workflow process and the foundation upon which tomorrow's firms and staff will be
built. Robert used a very clever football (the predominant religion here in Texas) metaphor to describe business success. He wove a story of a new quarterback who was overwhelmed at the speed at which the game progressed. It seemed everyone moved much more quickly making it exceedingly difficult to react. But, after a few years of "seasoning" that same quarterback reported that his experience now allowed him to see the game in "slow motion" ---- his point being that wisdom could flow from experience supplemented, of course, with knowledge management. Like that quarterback highly productive accounting firms are able to see in "slow motion" and react accordingly.
Good story --- well told and well matched.
