I spend a few days last week at the Thomson CSI Users' Conference. This was my 21st consecutive CSI confab and it was, as usual, and interesting and informative gathering. But more about that later. I want to tell you about a very cool device shown to me by Kentucky practitioner Ryan McCowan. He's a hard charging young practitioner always looking for a way to make technology work for him. He's shown here with his "device de jour". I am impressed. Very impressed.

n's prize is the OQO "hand top". It is a full-featured Windows XP computer with 512MB of RAM and a 30GB hard drive --- and WiFi, and Bluethooth, and USB, and Firewire. It has a full (albeit tiny) QWERTY keyboard, a digitizing pen, and a pretty solid docking station. oh, by the way, it's 3" x 5" and weighs just under 14 ounces. Pretty slick. It goes for just over $2K so I probably won't get one for Christmas.
Drat.
