I first "met" Frank Page telephonically and in the course of a conversation about tax compliance software I learned that he augments his Florida CPA practice with income earned as a stand-up comic. He thought that was quite unusual and I quickly challanged him, saying that I'd met dozens, perhaps even hundreds, of practicing accountant / stand-up comic combinations. [I try to play the comic occasionally, too!] Our subsequent conversation led to an ongoing friendship and ultimately a visit to his office and dinner with him and his wife. (BTW, he married above himself!).
Frank's alter-ego is DEBITMAN. Rather hard to explain, and some of the jokes are groaners --- but he IS funny!
Now he's an author, having just released "Exercise from a Lawn Chair". It too, is funny, especially for those of us with short attention spans. The book runs ~100 pages and can be read in 1/2 hour (more if you take time for belly laughs!)
If you're looking for an "accounting related" gag gift this might perfect.
